Win your chance to brew the official festival brew of 2023

Thanks to our mates at Black Rock, and our Festival ambassadors, EMERSON's, we’re giving you the chance to brew the official 2023 Festival Beer!

How to Enter:

It costs $10 per brew to enter the Black Rock Homebrew Competition

The Black Rock Homebrew Competition is a BJCP open-style competition, open to all brewing types.

All brews must be made on non-commercial premises, however brewers may be industry professionals.

Click on the link above to purchase your entry, and follow the steps in your confirmation email to complete the entry form.

Winning brews will be announced at the DCBFF on Saturday 29th October 2022

Competition Prizes

ALL category winners will win a double pass to Saturday's event, as well as a Black Rock Prize pack.

"Best in Show" Prize Package

In addition, the "Best in Show" (the Champion beer from across all categories, as chosen by our panel of judges) will get the opportunity to develop a recipe with staff from Emerson’s and to then brew the official Festival Beer for next year’s Festival. Whilst all efforts will be made to replicate your winning recipe as much as possible, consideration will also be given to commercial and technical viability of the Festival Brew, and changes made to the recipe accordingly. Think of it as a co-lab with the godfathers of craft beer!

Full details, competition guidelines and T&C’s are available here.
